About UsMy name is Jan Steffen. I am a certified Square in a Square® instructor. I have 2 certifications - basic and diamond. You can tell the certified instructors by our aprons. The top certified is a black apron, mine is black. If you see a master on the apron; it signifies that the instructor has develop a pattern and had it published in one of the Square In A Square pattern books. My background includes teaching a myriad of classes including Textiles at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh Online Division. I have taught sewing, tailoring and quilting to private clients. I have sewn for forty years. I teach fusible art quilts in Orange County. My latest projects include weaving, Russian punch needle, felting and embellishment with the Viking Huskystar ER10. I have shown at the San Diego Quilt Show. I am a member of the Fallbrook Quilt Guild, Southern Cal Council of Quilt Guilds and the American Quilter's Society.
