Tomorrow is the first day of the quilt shop sales. End of bolts, 20% off and buy one get one at 5 cents. The list of great savings are on! It's also time for inventory coming up and the shops want to have low inventory. We really should oblige our dear shop owners since they help us make our quilts gorgeous.

I have material to make a queen size poinsettia quilt. I am going to make it into a Cal King size quilt. So the queen size mattress is 60 X 80. The quilt size is 88 x 88. I have the Cal King at 72 X 84. To increase the size of the queen to fit my Cal King with at least a 14" drop on 3 sides, I need to add, 28" to 72 and 14" to 84 to make it a 100 x 98. I should round it up to 100 x 100. I only need to add 6" on all 4 side and that keeps the poinsettia centered on the quilt. I am looking for a very pretty beige Christmas fabric that will blend with the other beige fabrics. 

Tomorrow you will see me toting my fabric and pattern around to several of my favorite quilt shops to find the best one for the quilt. Then it's off to get started on the top!
