A Happy New Year! So what have you been up to? Sewing quilt tops? quilting last year's quilt tops? Or looking at your stash in disgust at the run away fabrics that have taken over your stash room?

The latter is what I have decided to tackle. I have reduced my stash by 2 full plastic boxes. Yes, I store them in plastic boxes stacked up to my eye level. My small closet is filled with fashion fabric, needle point yarn and canvases, yarn for knitting projects, roving for needle arts and weaving yarn. My Russian punch needle work projects are in the quilting room.

With most reorganized and placed in labeled boxes, I can readily see what I have or need. Need is a want word both four letters words. I look at all the projects I have "bagged" in zippered plastic drapery bags that my draperies came in when I bought said draperies. They are overflowing in a large plastic box next to my long arm frame.

I have done most of this work for 2 reasons. First is that my sister is coming to visit today from Colorado. Second, I have a workshop next Friday on organizing the stashes. And the biggest is that I'm tired of tripping over all the product in the rooms. To become more organized for me means I can't find anything, especially after I have organized the rooms.

And how is your New Year starting?
