Stash is Dashed

Posted by janicesteffen on Sunday, January 9th, 2011

I've been working on reducing my stash by organizing and refiling all fabrics after a certain size. Since I am not a avid appliquer, I am tossing the small pieces in to a pile then out the door. The small pieces will be offered to my ASG neighborhood group or tossed. I can no longer be frugal at the cost of my sanity and the overwhelming stash.

I took a before picture and showed it to my sister who was visiting. She remembered how unforgiving it was to walk through the room. No, not walk through - climb through. No, not climb through, just open the door and look! Now, not only can you open the door to a well organized stash/craft/office room, you can walk through it and see pictures hung and fabrics all in their boxes, labeled and organized. I unloaded a few stamp collections, some I had not opened or put on to their blocks for stamping. My textbooks are easy to find in the book shelves.Yet I wonder if I will be able to find anything when it is so well organized.

The only time it seems messy is when Fabio pulls in the old sheer fabric to bury his chew sticks under. He whimpers when he doesn't have his quilt on the floor piled with the old sheers for him to pull around the room and yes, pull out in to the family room.

Hope you are having a fabulous day.
