Road to California Quilt Show

I am not an early riser so getting up at 7 AM to get ready was a plus for me. I got to the Ontario Convention Center before 9:30 AM. The line to get in had already turned the corners of the building! And I thought I would get a parking place up front. LOL. I parked in the North 40, better known as the North Parking Convention Center Area. I've parked there several times in the past.
Before boarding the bus Sharon Wilhite and her daughter saw me. We rode over on the same shuttle and talked a little. It is always lovely to see Sharon in her famous jacket. Shes the lady behind Lady Dragon Quilts. We're both members at FQG. Upon disembarking at the convention center we lost sight of each other. I was in a hurry to do some of my shopping and trading.
I dropped off my trolley at the Boy Scout check-in. Please be sure to give them a tip when you pay for your holdings. The Square in a Square booth is right across from the check-in. I couldn't believe how busy they were. So I went shopping!
I immediately went to Superior Threads were I proceeded to stock up on my threads. With the long arm I buy the 1,000 yard threads and it's cheaper to buy there than have them shipped. I made an exchange at Pam Clarke's booth. I bought the same book on Tuesday (only twice) and also bought the stencil to go with it. Next I looked at the Sizzix. I have a small on for paper and have used it with fabric. The big Sizzix looks like the Go machine to me.
I looked for Denise from Q Bot. I had a problem with my machine and knew talking to her would help. Yep, came home and it sews great with out doing anything to it. GO figure!
I looked at the most amazing quilts in the show. I gave up taking photos. The workmanship is outstanding. The vendors may be the same, however, I saw fabric that was 5 years old to brand new on the market. I so enjoy shopping!
I ate in the tent outside the Convention Center. An amazing woman sat down from Seal Beach and we talked as if we were old friends. After lunch I went through the vendors I hadn't stopped at yet. Then said hi to Steve and Jodi Barrows. I left early in order to miss the traffic coming down the 15.
I always enjoy road. I just need to stay over one night if I have an early class or want to go to ~R2CA~.
